Coming Home Underwater
By Divers Tribe

Some places arenāt just visited, they are felt. Dahab is one of them. For us at Divers Tribe, this little spot between the desert and the sea isnāt just a destination: itās part of our story, a chosen home. It was our home for a while, a refuge for our first steps as a tribe. And every time we come back, it feels like the sea is embracing us with open arms.
Returning to Dahab isnāt just a trip. Itās reconnecting with the essentials: calm, laughter, endless dives, the sound of bubbles, and Bedouin tea at the end of the day. Itās about sharing, looking at each other underwater, and feeling like time slows down and everything falls into place.
And because we donāt want to keep this all to ourselves, hereās why this place is so special. Sure, you might come for the sea... but youāll stay for everything else.
š Dahab: Between the Desert and the Sea
Dahab is where the desert meets the deep blue. This small coastal village is located on the Sinai Peninsula, southeast of Egypt, surrounded by the calm waters of the Red Sea. Just 6 hours by land from Cairo or only an hour and a half from Sharm el-Sheikh airport, Dahab still has that hidden gem vibe, away from the noise of more touristy destinations.
But what truly makes Dahab special is not just its location, but its soul. Once a Bedouin settlement, āDahabā means gold in Arabic, referencing the golden tone of its beaches and its magical light. Since the 1980s, it has attracted curious travelers, backpackers, nomads, and, of course, divers. Today, itās a unique blend of cultures, languages, and dreams all living together at the waterās edge.
Dahab doesnāt have luxury resorts or perfectly paved streets. It has cafĆ©s on the sand, cats sleeping in the sun, and that slow pace of life that gradually unravels your stress without you even noticing. And that, believe us, is worth more than any luxury.

š Dahab: A Mecca for Freediving and Scuba Diving

Dahab has that indescribable something that everyone feels when they dive in. The conditions are ideal: clear, warm water, no strong currents, reefs accessible from the shore, and a community that lives for and by the sea.
š Freediving: Breathe Deep
Dahab is home to one of the worldās most important freediving centers. Athletes, coaches, and curious souls from all over the world are drawn here. It even appears in the Netflix documentary The Deepest Breath, which tells part of the story of Alessia Zecchini and Stephen Keenan, who trained here.
