Koh Lanta is a picturesque island located on the west coast in the Andaman Sea, in the Province of Krabi. Known for its serene atmosphere and natural beauty, Koh Lanta is a haven for beach lovers, divers, and those seeking a tranquil escape. The island has a variety of landscapes, between long sandy beaches, lush green jungles and local fisherman villages.
Koh Lanta’s local culture is a blend of Thai, Malay, and Sea Gypsy influences, reflected in its cuisine, festivals, and daily life. Visitors can explore traditional villages, sample delicious seafood, and experience the warm hospitality of the island's inhabitants. Whether diving, exploring land caves, or simply relaxing on the beach having a Thai massage, Koh Lanta offers a perfect blend of adventure and relaxation. Koh Lanta is one of our favourite islands in Thailand as it offers a blend of vibrant coral reefs, diverse marine life, and accessible dive sites suitable for all levels of divers.
Diving
Koh Haa Marine Park, located near Koh Lanta, is open for only six months each year, an initiative that has fostered the protection and flourishing of coral life and an abundance of species. This area offers rich biodiversity, surface intervals with stunning views and colourful underwater landscapes. Water temperature ranges from 27°C to 30°C, and visibility can vary daily between 10m and 30m. The best time to visit ranges between November and April.
Some of the most famous locations we will explore are:
Hin Daeng (Red Rock)
Known for its deep drop-offs and strong currents, attracting large pelagics like manta rays and whale sharks.
Hin Muang (Purple Rock)
Famous for its soft, purple corals and diverse marine life, including big-eye trevallies and schools of fusiliers.
Koh Haa
A group of islets offering caves, swim-throughs, and lagoons with excellent visibility and diverse coral formations.
Koh Bida Nok and Koh Bida Nai
Located near Koh Phi Phi, these sites are rich in marine biodiversity, with chances to see blacktip reef sharks and leopard sharks.
